How to troubleshoot the Brother Printer error A6?

Step 1: Hardware Connection rechecks

  • First, check if the paper tray is set properly within the printer
  • Second, you will have to check the ink cartridges if the cartridges are full or empty. If the cartridges are empty then you will have to fill the same
  • Then check the connection of the printer. If the USB cable is properly connected to the printer and also check the network connection
  • Unplug the printer from the main connection and leave it for 30seconds
  • After 30 seconds connect the printer again to the main power supply and check if you are still getting the same error.

Step 2: Cold Reset

  • The first step will be to switch off the printer and computer
  • Now, unplug the printer from the power outlet and also cut the connection between the printer and the computer
  • Leave the printer for 2 minutes after disconnecting
  • Then connect the printer again with the mains and connect with the computer
  • Now you can switch on the computer to check if the error is still there or not

Step 3: Cycle the power

  • For this process, you first need to switch off the printer
  • Leave the printer for 20 seconds to cool down
  • After 20 seconds switch on the printer again and let it reset on its own
  • Once the printer has reset itself check the panel it will show ready status and then check if you are facing the same error again

Step 4: Check the fuser

Fuser plays a very important role in the printer. To check of fuser heat you can follow the below process-

  • First, you need to restart the printer
  • Now you need to turn on the printer then disconnect from the main
  • Now press the power button for 30 seconds to release the remaining power in the printer
  • Then open the fuser gear that is on the right side of the printer
  • Next, you need to take out the fuser gear slowly by taking care of wear and tear of the fuser gear
  • Now you can close the printer gear and also install it back in the printer
  • At last, you can check if you are still getting the A6 error
